If I had a dollar for every time I said “Wow!” today, I could pay for this trip to New Zealand.
Honestly, the landscapes headed south between Haast and Arrowtown are so incredibly beautiful they don’t seem real.
We passed so many waterfalls, I stopped counting. I did get a kick out of the names for a couple, Trickle 1 and Trickle 2, which were right on Highway 6. I preferred Trickle 2 because while not as noisily powerful, it was taller than Trickle 1.
Our first stop of the day was in the Mount Aspiring National Park to visit the Blue Pools. We walked a quick 15 minutes down a forest trail and across a couple of swing bridges…
to view the enchanting blue water.
Back on the road, it was one majestic vista after another…
all the way into Arrowtown, the quaint village on the outskirts of Queenstown.
The view from our lodgings in the cozy B&B where we’ll rest our heads tonight — the Arrowtown Lodge — isn’t half bad either. Just wow!
