I really like crab cakes. My husband knows this, of course, which is why he made lunch reservations at Simon & Seafort’s in Anchorage today.
The Alaskan King Crab cakes are good, but I’m still partial to Maryland crab cakes.
But you can’t find the vistas here in The Last Frontier in Maryland! It’s the vastness that I’ll take with me in my memories. It’s hard to capture the scale even in photos and harder still to frame in words. Everything is bigger here — crabs, bear, mountains — even Texas would fit nicely within Alaska with plenty of space to spare.
Confronted with the infinite majesty of the Alaskan landscape, I am reminded of my finite existence in this astounding Creation. What an honor and privilege to have the chance to gaze upon it, be a part of it if only for a second in the eternity of His time piece.
