Ketch as Ketchican

John and I got an early start this morning in Ketchican. We took off in the opposite direction of the old historic part of town (aka tourist central) and wound our way up and up to an overpass with some stunning views.

We stumbled upon a trailhead for the Rainbird Trail and took it. Worth the climb. The short, little trail was quite picturesque.

After our nice two-hour jaunt, we returned to the ship and soaked in one of the four hot tubs on the pool deck. We emerged reinvigorated and ready for lunch. The food on board is quite good so we grabbed a quick lunch before heading out for the afternoon.

We made our way to the historic district — a quaint section of town for those who want to shop.

John and I opted for the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center. A nice little museum for a quick education on the Tsongas National Forest.

Tomorrow — Juneau.
