We’re in the Arkansas Watershed Recreation Area in Colorado where we, literally, just pulled off Highway 285 and followed some camping signs down a dirt road. We pulled into a space called “Dan’s Land — Free Camping.” So, Dan, wherever and whoever you are…THANKS!
Earlier this afternoon, we headed out to the Great Sand Dunes National Park which we could see clearly in the distance. After 10 miles down this road on a windy day with sand blowing everywhere, we decided to turnaround. I saw giant sand dunes in the desert in Israel on the way to the Dead Sea and John has seen the Sahara Desert so we figured we had experienced enough sand dunes.
Besides, the view from Dan’s Land beats large sand dunes from where I’m sitting. What do you think?
