Four Corners and Beyond

It’s not everyday that you can stand in one small spot and touch four different states simultaneously — but John and I did yesterday at the Four Corners. It’s a Navajo Nation tourist spot where New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah intersect. Meggie…that stop was for you!

Last night, we did some primitive campiing (or at least as primitive as you can get in a camper!) in Mesa Verde. I was definitely suffering from sensory overload (you can only take in so many magnificient vistas in a short period of time, I’ve found) so, a “timeout” was welcome.

We packed up earlier this morning and made our way to a recreation area just outside Taos, NM where we plan to hang out for a few days. Getting down to our campsite was a little adventure…camper and trailer down a narrow dirt road into a gorge. It was worth it because the Rio Grande flows right beside our camp site.

Right now, we’re in Taos chowing down at the Five Star Burgers — which USA Today touts as one of the best burger joints in the USA. I’m about to find out. Happy dining!
